2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class vs the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Wondering what’s new on the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class? The main difference that vehicle shoppers will see when comparing the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class vs the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is not new features or enhancements, but entire new model levels and body styles. The 2017 E-Class sedan was all-new for its model year, with refined features and a new elite four-cylinder base engine. For 2018, we see the redesign of the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet (which we’ve compared in a previous blog post), and the addition of a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E 400 4MATIC® Sedan and Mercedes-AMG® E 63 S Sedan (which was also featured in a previous blog). For this post, we are focusing on the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E 400 4MATIC® Sedan and other E-Class sedan enhancements.
New 2018 Mercedes-AMG® E63 & E63 S Performance Features
Mercedes-AMG® is all about defying expectations and redefining the automotive industry. That was the impetus behind the new generation of Mercedes-AMG® performance sedans, including the new 2018 Mercedes-AMG® E 63 and E 63 S Sedans. These two models are helping create the most powerful E-Class of all time. The Mercedes-AMG® E 63 and E 63 S Sedans get their power from state-of-the-art powertrain technology and an intelligent drive strategy that’s unlike any other on the market.
E 400 Trim
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz E 400 4MATIC®* will be joining the E-Class sedan lineup for the new model year. It will feature a 3.0-liter V-6 biturbo engine that can crank out 329 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. This is the same powertrain available in the E 400 Coupe and Cabriolet. This engine in the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E 400 4MATIC® will be mated to a confident nine-speed automatic transmission and come with the DYNAMIC SELECT select-able drive mode system.
Other E-Class Sedan Enhancements
There will be some minor new feature changes on the 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan as well. These include Active Multicontour Seats with a massaging feature, two new wood trim options, soft-close doors, illuminated door sills with Mercedes-Benz branding, an available Rear Seat Entertainment system, an available Comfort Adapter, and available tri-zone automatic climate control.
