While MB-Tex leatherette is not leather, it does look and feel like leather. You should not use harsh vinyl cleaners on it, but leather cleaner will also not work correctly. One of the best cleaning methods is to use a mild cleaner like dish washing soap mixed with water and applied with a soft cloth. However, you should not use a microfiber cloth, as that can damage MB-Tex upholstery. If you take care of it correctly, this specialized fabric will look excellent for a long time.

While you should never use a microfiber cloth on MB-Tex leatherette, you should use one on authentic leather upholstery in your Mercedes-Benz. For most minor messed, you can either brush it off your seats, or lather on a modest amount of leather cleaner, and then wipe it off with a damp microfiber cloth. You don’t want to use a lot of water on leather seats, and especially not if the seats are ventilated, because the water and cleaner can sink into the pores of the material and leave streaks or discolorations.
