2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB Drivetrain Options and Drive Modes

All 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine rated at 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Each engine is paired with a standard front-wheel drive system and offers an available 4MATIC®  all-wheel drive system* as an available upgrade. Models equipped with the 4MATIC® AWD* upgrade are also outfitted with three DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes including Eco/Comfort Mode, Sport Mode, and Off-Road Mode.

Eco/Comfort Mode

Eco/Comfort mode is the preferred selection for daily driving in nice weather. With 80-percent of the power distributed to the front axle and 20-percent distributed to the rear axle, Eco/Comfort mode offers the best balance of performance, handling, and fuel economy.

Sport Mode

Perfect for joy rides, Sport Mode increases power to the rear wheels to optimize handling and on-road performance. While Sport Mode will sacrifice fuel economy and is not recommended for daily use, it’s a great option for winding roads or sharp maneuvering.

Off-Road Mode

When the going gets tough, off-road mode delivers equal power to the front and back axle and the clutch performs like an inter-axle differential lock. Off-Road Mode increases the SUV’s versatility and ensures that drivers can confidently go where they need to.
