College Station Weekend of Remembrance – May 25-27
Running from Friday (May 25) through Sunday (May 27) the Weekend of Remembrance in College Station TX (held at Veterans Memorial Park) will focus on a softball and flag football tournament, but offer a host of activities to honor fallen military members. Other activities over the weekend include an opening ceremony with military speakers, a parachute jump display, a 5k run/walk, breakfast with a military chaplain, and kids activities. Woodlands Memorial Day Festival – May 27
This festival will be Sunday, May 27, 2018, and offer a tribute to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. This event will open at 4 p.m. and wrap up with a fantastic fireworks display starting at 8:55 p.m. Held at Town Green Park (2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands), this free festival will feature live music, children’s activities, entertainment, and speakers. Houston National Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony – May 28
The Memorial Day Ceremony at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston) is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. on Memorial Day.
Sugar Land Memorial Day – May 28
This Memorial Day celebration at Sugar Land Memorial Park (15300 University Boulevard, Sugar Land TX) will feature live music, a flag ceremony, on-site military exhibits, free educational and commemorative activities, community tributes for the fallen, and words of remembrance.
