Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ Powertrain and Safety Features

Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ front interior passenger space_oThe Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ concept vehicle features two electric motors – one on the front axle and one on the rear axle – while the battery rests in the vehicle floor. This means the Generation EQ concept vehicle has a total output of up to 300 kW and offers a range of up to 310 miles. It also includes an innovative consumption display which provides you with feedback on your driving style and offers you with energy-saving tips to increase your range. And while the focus of the Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ is on its electric capabilities, it also comes with all the safety features you’d expect from Mercedes-Benz. This includes a special focus on sensor fusion, which is the intelligent combination of data from different sensors throughout the vehicle.

What Does the Generation EQ Mean for the Future?

“The mobility of the future at Mercedes-Benz will stand on four pillars: Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric. ‘Generation EQ’ is the logical fusion of all four pillars. The emission-free automobile is the future. And our new EQ brand goes far beyond electric vehicles. EQ stands for a comprehensive electric ecosystem of services, technologies and innovations.” – Dr Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Because every aspect of the architecture of the Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ concept vehicle is scalable and usable across the entire Mercedes-Benz lineup, it’s not hard to imagine a world in which every Mercedes-Benz vehicle is electric.
